Indium is the 49th element of the periodic system of elements, silvery-white, malleable and light-melting, a very soft metal, similar in chemical properties to aluminum and gallium, in appearance to zinc.

Application:
For magnetron spraying to obtain conductive layers and coatings, layers; for solders, as gaskets of leak detectors, etc. High purity indium grades 6N and 7N are used as sources of molecular beam epitaxy (Molecular Beam Epitaxy, MBE), as well as the starting material in the synthesis of semiconductor compounds.

Certification:
The chemical composition of indium is determined by the method of Atomic emission spectroscopy with the excitation of the spectrum in the DC arc.

Scope of application:

• Used in microelectronics as an acceptor admixture to germanium and silicon.
• It is used in the production of glass for liquid crystal screens.
• Light-melting solder component.
• Sometimes it is used to cover mirrors, in particular, car headlights, while the reflectivity of mirrors is not worse than that of silver ones, and the resistance to the effects of the atmosphere is greater.
• Photocell material.
• Fluorescent material.
• Indium arsenide is used as a high-temperature thermoelectric material with very high efficiency, 10% of indium phosphide is usually doped to increase efficiency.
• Indium isotopes 111In and 113mIn are used as radiopharmaceuticals.
• Indium isotope 115In is used to detect electron neutrinos with a threshold energy of about 120 keV: 115In+νe → 115Sn+e± 2y
