For thermal coatings, a group of materials with increased resistance to wear and oxidation at temperatures of 800-1200°C.
This group includes powders of nickelaluminium, nickeltitanium, ferrochromaluminium alloys obtained by recovery from oxides, the production of which has been carried out since 1980 and on which quite extensive experience has been accumulated in the technology of obtaining, properties of materials and their application in various fields of thermal coatings. The group also includes the powder of wear-resistant nickeltitanium alloy RP-Ni55Ti45, obtained in the same way as other metallids of group A, but not having the heat resistance inherent in nickelaluminium alloys.

A characteristic feature of powders of this type is the irregular, or rather, dendritic form of particles. Powders of this class are obtained by reducing metal oxides with calcium hydride. The obtained Ni-Al, Ni-Ti, Fe-Cr-Al powders are polydispersed and contain 90-95% particles of size from 11 to 63 microns.
Due to the developed surface of the particles, powders during plasma spraying form sufficiently dense and durable coatings.
Powders are applied with plasma spraying and detonation-gas spraying.
