Lead powder.

Lead powders are obtained by spraying the lead melt.
There are three brands of powder (GOST 16138-78): PSA, PS1, PS2.

The powder should not contain foreign impurities and lumps. The weight fraction of -0.045 mm for PSA powder for different package units should not differ by more than 5% from the higher value.

The bulk density of the powder shall be normalized for the PSA mark only and shall be 5-6 g/cm3 for different package units; within the same lot it shall not differ by more than 0.2 g/cm3.

Lead powder is packed in bags of polyethylene film 100-150 μm thick, they are hermetically brewed and placed in bags of dense fabric. At the request of the consumer, a linen bag with silica gel weighing 50 g is placed in the bag. Bags with PSA powder are packed in wooden boxes no later than a day after its manufacture. By agreement, it is allowed to pack in wooden boxes and powders of the brand PS1 and PS2. The mass of the powder in the bag should be 22±0.22 kg; at the request of the consumer, it is allowed to pack the powder in a bag weighing 10±0.1 kg.

Lead powder of one brand is supplied with a batch weighing no more than 600 kg.

Lead powders are used in the production of contact brushes of electrical machines, for the manufacture of asbotechnic products, special products by powder metallurgy methods for the nuclear industry and protection from X-ray radiation.
